Medicare is not always for senior citizens, and I wish that politicians would take a couple more seconds in their rhetoric to be more accurate, however small the segment of ‘others served’ is. Some people with disabilities rely on it too, and for the same reasons–more medication and care expenses than the average person. Thus, it seems to me that it just makes more sense to mention us too. It’s true–relatively few people with disabilities are eligible for Medicare compared to the number of people in the United States who are over 65. Still, we with disabilities are people, and a valid chunk of the pie.
